Dave Evans Apprenticeship Program

Consolidated Power Projects (CPP) proudly welcomes its newest cohort of apprentices.

Consolidated Power Projects (CPP) proudly welcomes its newest cohort of apprentices, marking a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to nurturing talent and promoting diversity within the electrical industry. Named after former CPP President, Dave Evans, the CPP Dave Evans Apprenticeship Program highlights the company’s dedication to providing opportunities for the next generation of electricians and lineworkers.

Embarking on a four-year journey, these apprentices will immerse themselves in hands-on experiences and gain invaluable exposure to industry-leading projects under the guidance of highly experienced professionals. Alongside their practical training, apprentices will also participate in formal education provided by a Registered Training Organisation, working towards nationally accredited trade qualifications in either Transmission Lines or Electrotechnology.

“We’re thrilled to witness the growth of our apprentices and the positive impact they will undoubtedly make,” expresses CPP Senior Advisor of People, Culture and Training, Shield Miranda. “This program not only equips them with the necessary skills and knowledge but also instills in them the values and ethos that define CPP.”

In a noteworthy development, CPP has significantly increased its female representation within its apprentice intake, from one in the previous year to four in the 2024 cohort. This surge in diversity aligns with CPP’s commitment to being an Equal Opportunity Employer and underscores the company’s recognition of the value that diverse perspectives bring to the workplace.

“Increasing female representation within our workforce is a testament to our dedication to fostering a more inclusive and diverse environment” remarks Mrs. Miranda. “We firmly believe that diversity drives innovation and creativity, and our apprenticeship program is a reflection of our commitment to building a more powerful and diverse future for our industry.”

CPP Vice President of Business Development and Marketing, Mr. Chris Connell, also strongly supports with the initiative. “I am very pleased to see that we are increasing our intake of female employees; this is extremely important as we grow to meet the numerous opportunities in our markets.”
