An expansion of Mannum Energy Park in South Australia includes integrating a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) aimed at bolstering energy security. The project will store surplus renewable energy for supply during peak demand, contributing to a more stable and sustainable power grid for South Australians.

PROJECT HEADED BY EPIC ENERGY
The Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Mannum Road aims to enhance South Australia’s power grid reliability by storing excess renewable energy for peak demand periods. Capable of supplying 100 megawatts of power for up to two hours daily—enough for approximately 16,000 homes—the BESS will occupy 2 hectares of privately owned land adjacent to an ElectraNet/SA Power Networks substation. The project, undertaken with Canadian Solar as the main client, is a significant initiative owned by Epic Energy.
The CPP scope of works includes the BESS Yard, 132/33kV Substation, and 132kV Cable Connections to Mannum Substation, along with Detail Design.
